"Doc" Edward Michelitch 1925 - 2007

Doc was a veterinarian and a charter member of the DC Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

He founded the Great Falls Animal Hospital in 1963.

"Dr. Mike" as he was know there, was living at the Tall Oaks assisted living community in Reston for the last several years.

On Thursday, April 26, 2007 in residence at Fairfax Nursing Center. Former owner and founder of Great Falls Animal Hospital and honored community veterinarian and friend. Beloved husband of the late Lee H. Survived by one son, Jem; one grandson, Jason; two granddaughters, Taryn and Tess; two sisters, Mary Petrick and Rebecca Nagel; five brothers, Herman, Joseph, Robert, Phillip and Harry; many other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends at ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA on Sunday April 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Catholic Mass held Monday, April 30 at ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, 750 Peachtree St., Herndon, VA at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Richmond Animal League, 11401 International Drive, Richmond, VA 23236-3945.
